The Margaret River Wine Region

Just a three-hour drive south of Perth, Margaret River is one of Australia’s, and indeed the world’s, most isolated and elite winegrowing regions.

Situated adjacent to the Indian Ocean, the region boasts optimal conditions for vineyards. Proximity to the ocean, soil consistency and perfect seasonal temperatures all contribute to the overall excellence of Margaret River wines.

The region is famed for some of Australia’s best Chardonnay, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and the unique natural characteristics of Margaret River help us make exquisite wines of power and elegance.

Redbrook Vineyard

The Wilyabrup region is renowned for being the source of some of Australia’s best Cabernet Sauvignons and our Redbrook vineyard is no exception.

The 20 hectare vineyard is home to some of the oldest vines (40 years old) in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River. Named after the Wilyabrup Creek, the proximity of this subregion to the Indian Ocean provides cooling maritime breezes, offering ideal growing conditions for high-quality fruit. Ancient, fertile soils impart a unique terroir which has helped to put Margaret River Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon on the world stage.

The Evans & Tate wines take inspiration from this historic parcel of land.
